The return of Ontario Hockey League Hockey to North Bay is a good thing for all of Northern Ontario, Mayor Marianne Matichuk said Wednesday.
?The North Bay vs. Sudbury Wolves rivalry was one of the most intense in the league and continuing it, along with the Soo Greyhounds, will promote all Northern communities provincially and nationally. When one community succeeds, we all succeed.? Matichuk said in a statement.
Some 200 hockey fans from North Bay, including mayor Al McDonald made the trip to Sudbury to see the Brantford Battalion play the Wolves at the Sudbury Community Arena last night.
The Battalion will play in North Bay starting next year now that the team has sold 2,000 season tickets.
