Organizational Biology represents an organism as a living system that constitutes a symbiotic relationship between cells and their association with other cells and themselves and the larger whole. ?These cells are unicellular as individuals or multi-cellular organisms as dyads, teams, business groups and departments.
This biological system is composed of that which is; multiplied, divided, added to and subtracted from. In much the same, an organizational system is multi-cellular; multifaceted, multiplex and a multi-interactional culture with multiple members and cells adding to the over-all development, function and success of the whole. Organizational systems are myriad fractals of design reflecting self-similar, self-organizing and self-repeating processes & behaviors that are essentially the collective synapses of an organized mind from the input of all members that contribute to it.
This ?organizational mind? is the central point of wisdom that is manifested in its; Leadership, decision-making, culture, teams, participation and deliverable value that is generated and produced from a tetrahedral bond between Intellectual Capital, Organizational Knowledge and Individual understanding that is connected to the central vertex called Organizational Intelligence.
Organizational Biology is important to understand, because people create organizations, define the rules and relationships, structure levels of organization, coordinate processes and communicate through one another and techno-biological systems to facilitate the work that needs to be done. Human biology also functions the same way, therefore it is very relevant and vitally important to reference human biological systems as a reference point in understanding organizations, the rate at which they are able to adapt to change, grow and develop over time.
Organizational Science?is a way of thinking about organizations and a method of practice that provides the basis for understanding what shapes organizational systems, their organizational designs and the organizational psychology that produces its organized communication practices. The composite of all the above function to promote and provide a sense-making mechanism for members that will aid in shaping its organizational development & reveal its organizational justice; a product of that which is created and multiplied from within the organizational climate. This is expressed through and functions at the level of the organizations culture which shapes its organizational environment.? Ultimately what is born out from within this environment is organizational behavior, constituting the sum total reflection and determinant?of the degree of its?organizational effectiveness, thus the efficiency and sustainability of its well-being and organizational performance. The repeated use of the word ?organization/organizational? is intentional, because it is important to understand, ?that at the foundation of all that I am building on is the action, planning, development and strategy of that which is organized effectively.
Organizational Intelligence (OI) is the coming together of people & participation with their relationship to all aspects of the organization; structurally, culturally and technologically.? The degree to which they share knowledge and discern the difference between intellectual capital which is the tacit knowledge /experience that individuals own and manage themselves and human capital which is the performative sum of that knowledge demonstrated as competencies & skills that facilitate how knowledge and wisdom are applied and the degree to which the intellectual and human capital are congruently effective in meeting the mission of the organizations competitive, business and functional level goals.
The vision or ideal aspiration of any organization is to know and be wise to understand how to continuously learn how to learn. This is called ?Organizational Learning?,?of which all of the aforementioned are vital ingredients that must be understood as the effective quality of the ?Learning Organization??in order to be actual in its mission, vision, purpose and goals. The degree, to which these concepts can be identified, realized, internalized and actualized (applied) is a powerful indicator of what will be the ?Life-cycle of the organization! Organizations that do not understand these concepts will not be adaptive organizations, and will miss the hallmark evolutionary steps necessary to thrive, compete and sustain a well-functioning high-performance organizational system. Through the qualitative and quality of expressions you will know the culture of its biology, see the organizations intelligence and you will understand the Science of organizational wisdom.
