RS180:
Dayton Audio RS180-8 7" Reference Woofer 295-355
Anarchy:
DIYCable.com : Intro ? Home ? Exodus Anarchy ?

My goal: Up front Base
My Thoughts: The Anarchy looks like the superior driver
My Qualm: Is it worth the extra $82? (41 per driver)

So what do you think? I have 100 watts per channel for them, but if the anarchies need more power I could always bridge the amplifier for 250 watts and drop the rear fill.

The real question is will the anarchies be worth the extra money? The daytons seem to be approved of as a mid-bass driver. Also I have heard that the anarchies don't always do well in the automotive environment.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated.

If you want up front bass I'd ditch the rears and bridge your amp on a pair of Anarchies. They're 8 ohm and not terribly efficient, so they'll appreciate the extra power. The RS-180 won't play as low with as much authority, but it will play higher.

There are others, but not many are at the same price point.

thanks for the words

the anarchys do not like a higher crossover that the daytons should be fine with, if you have a 2-way system, i think you will not like them. i felt that, in a 2 way system crossed anywhere between 1500hz to 2500hz the anarchys were still unhappy. mine are infinite baffle in the doors with shitloads of deadener, and they are playing from 56hz@24db\oct to about 200hz@12db\oct and they slam and make me smile. i have gotten a lot of compliments on them. they are almost 4 Inches deep, so if you plan on putting them in the door make sure you have the clearance... they are DEEP.

the rs180 has more cone area (this is the 8 inch driver), but shouldnt play as low, but has a way better top end. i have only heard the 6 inch version, but they are quality speakers. they are shallower, but again wont have that low end authority, but if you are running 2 way, they should do much better than the anarchies.

that is just my thoughts, so take it or leave it - but make SURE if you are putting a midbass in the door put deadening on it and seal it up as best you can. i recommend using Duct Seal. you can get it at home improvement stores in the electrical isle. it comes in alb bricks. put as much as you feel comfortable with on each door. i have near 2lbs on each door. it helps A LOT.

No biggie, but just to clarify the RS180 is actually a 7" driver. The RS225 is the 8 inch.
