Restaurant first timers Tim Travelstead and Brad Becker wrapped up friends and family dinners over the weekend at their 2223 replacement Jake's on Market. Inside sources say they'll be soft-open for the next few days, with an official opening coming up on Wednesday. As you can see, the decor has undergone a significant overhaul with a lightly mod red-and-white color palette, and vintage black-and-white San Francisco scenes on the walls. Jim Maxwell of Architects II is the designer on record.
Chef Erik Hopfinger, who last enjoyed a stint at Long Bar on Fillmore, has put together a menu of American comfort food staples, suitable for everyday eating. Think DIY pasta dishes, ground-to-order burgers and local ingredients, as in the Hobbs ham-and-cheese croquettes with housemade aioli. Breads and pastries are baked on the premises, and it's all complimented by a full bar. The restaurant is named for the owner's son Jake, so it's no huge surprise there's a kid's menu too. Take a look at all of the menus over on GrubStreet and drop us a line over the EaterWire or in the comments if you happen to check Jake's out soon.
